Born in Perote, Alabama in 1865, Jennie Hudgins was an African-American woman who migrated to Pensacola, Florida in the early 1900s [ADD IN THAT THE LAND WAS DEEDED TO HER HUSBAND IN 1901 BY THE BLACKMAN FAMILY] and lived with her extended family on 10 acres of land adjacent to Carpenter’s Creek until her death in 1949.
